Botanical Window Frame

After sharing my Drab to Fab: Dresser project a few weeks back, I had some questions about how I put together the botanical piece above it! Well, I have always loved botanical prints! I think they hold a simple vintage elegance but if they are not hard to come by, many times they are expensive. Or if the prints are not expensive the framing of them sure can get expensive!

SO! I hopped on to good ole Google and went searching and came across this lovely little website called The Graphics Fairy ! The website has thousands of beautiful vintage graphics. Anything your little heart desires! That is where I got my botanical prints, for FREE! And to save you the time here is a link to each print I used...

After printing these off with my printer. I grabbed my 8 pane window and spray adhesive. After wiping the window down, I flipped it wrong side up. Lightly sprayed one pane and applied my first print. Be very careful about placement, that the print is facing down and if your panes are slightly larger than the print, that you place each one evenly across. Repeat this process for each print, lift and enjoy! It really was all that was to it! Simple & Quick!

  5. What a beautiful window! I love all the different uses for these old windows that we all have in our homes, I recently painted mine with chalkboard paint so my wreath would pop against it. At one time I had over 20 old windows that I have slowly given to friends over the years. And I am always a fan of botanical prints, the graphics fairy is the best! Thanks for linking up at Fridays Unfolded!

  6. Your botanical window is perfect, looks fantastic with softly colored botanical pictures. What would we do with out the Graphics Fairy? She is so generous and helpful. I was so happy when I found her about year or so ago. Only thing is every time she posted an image I wanted to save it, ran out of room in memory so I got an external hard drive to save images on. Have to go thru occasionally to delete seasonal images past for the year.
When we lived in KY I found a 3 foot square window/12 panes, we used in our living room. It was so heavy had to build a frame on wall to hang it. As seasons and holidays passed I'd change out what was in panes. Had to leave the window when we left KY which killed me. Had to leave several other windows as hubs insisted no room for them. Had some old wood doors also. Just have 2 windows now but not parting with them for anything, I use them on our shutter shelf we made.
Seeing your window reminded me of my old window. You did such a great job making good use of it. Enjoy. Happy season

  7. Forgot to thank you for the botanical image referrals. I will be saving those to use in my windows. Will be gorgeous for Spring. Which I'm sure will be looking forward to after long winter. We live in western CO. It's cold here but no snow darn it. Love those adorable little shoes from Zulilly and your awesome metal tray on your table below your window. ENjoy
