Who doesn't love pizza??!
Nothing can top these Pita Pocket Pizza's in this house! Miss G loves to help me make them, and for toddlers/children this meal couldn't be any better for them! At just 226 calories per pita pocket and it's no mess sandwich style, makes this a Mommy favorite as well ! On our quest to better eating this has been one of those recipes that is a regular in our house can't wait to hear what you all think! Take the jump to get the simple recipe!
Ingredients:
- 1 Pita Pocket-We use Brownberry Pocket Thins; Italian Herb) - 100 calories
- Pizza Sauce-We read labels and ended up with a 30 cal sauce. You wont use the whole serving though so that will cut that calorie amount as well.
- Mozzarella Cheese- Really you can enjoy any cheese you like, we do not use a ton of cheese cause we are trying to watch the calorie amount but what is a pizza without cheese? lol
- Turkey Pepperoni- Calories on these are great! The flavor of turkey pep is not as strong as a regular pepperoni but with the lower calorie count you can add more of them to get that flavor!How to: Grab your pita pocket with a spoon put a spoonful of pizza sauce in your pocket and smooth it out on each side of your pita. Grab a pinch of cheese sprinkle in the pocket add about 6 turkey pepperoni's and another pinch of cheese. Repeat for however many you need to make, place on a cookie sheet and heat in the oven at 350 for 5-10 mins to get that cheese melted! And that's it!! Yummy hand held LOW calorie Pita Pizza Pockets that will end that pizza craving and make you feel good about your healthy choice later! :)
