This is a way to start a week...

So I took my evening off as Mom and Wife last night. Boy, had it been awhile. I spent it with one of the most special men in my life, my Dad!! :) I may be in my mid-twenties but I am never to old to have a daddy/daughter date with my ole man! So, left my main man, Jer, home with all 3 babes. (Knowing my mother was also a phone call away to back him up, cause we all know how fast 3 kids can go wild on even the most well prepared animal trainer! lol) My father and I went to a yummy dinner and then.....

We had tickets to the Kentucky Wildcats Blue/White scrimmage game!! We had a lot of fun watching the talent and getting pumped for the beginning of the season! And was so nice to have adult conversation and catching up. Overall, perfect date night with my Dad!

Love this man!
Treasured memories were made, for sure!!!

On the home front, all my little animals, err, humans survived Mommy being away! Even the tiniest little gal! This being the longest her and I had been away from one another, she OK. Successful evening for all! And this Momma is refreshed and prepared to wrangle my cubs! XOXO

Drab to Fab

I think I'm going to add a new *hopefully* monthly post called "Drab to Fab" where I hope to share projects of my own and even features of favorite items, pieces of furniture, and spaces revamped to a new life! This week I'm excited to share one of my own projects that I just finished this week and could use opinions as to how to give her the last finishing touch.

But first let me introduce "her"...

Look how very sad and depressing this dresser is but we have both been through a lot together. You see this dresser was actually used in "my" baby room when I was a baby. It actually was set up as a changing table...yes...my bum actually was wiped and powdered on this thing at one time...weird. lol

And ya see, she has traveled and been everywhere with me being used as everything, from a TV stand in my husband and I's first home to its new home as my landing "console". This poor dresser has seen a lot. So many bangs, dings, and scratches but she is mine and  it was time. It was more than time...to clean her up.

After batting my eyes at my lovely hubs he moved her out to the garage to begin this "delicate" process.

Grabbed my sander and began shaving off years of built up pledge, and old tiny places I had spilled nail polish as a teen while secretly painting my nails in my room.*wink* I sanded it down bare on the top of the dresser and the drawer fronts to prepare them for new stain, Minwax (provincial).

And then I very lightly roughed up the dressers base so that it could be painted this valspar black ( I will have to get the name)...

I had some moments I felt a little sad seeing her go but once I hit this part I just knew...this was for the best.I added a poly coat to all my stain. Followed the directions for this and did two coats.

Here is how she turned out. Here is that before again...

And the After...

I think she is just *sigh* perfect. She sure has grown up into such a beautiful lady! hahaha
(Don't mind the very wimpy bamboo plant hanging out here...We just can't seem to part with one another. hahaha...Baby steps.)

But she is missing something...oh yeah.... KNOBS! This is where I need you! Here are the ones I have been eyeing...which do you think?

Please leave me a comment below with your thoughts and I would LOVE to see your "Drab to Fab" projects as well! So be sure to link up below!! Thanks for walking down memory lane with me...

Baby Nook Update

My sweet, beautiful baby GIRL came into this world a few weeks ago and we were never so excited to welcome her into our lives! We have already been blessed with two amazing children, that she has just been the icing on the cake! Easy baby just like her siblings and perfect in every way! Not only were we excited to have her in our arms, there has been nothing like waking in the morning and seeing her snoozing in her little nook! Wanted to share with everyone how it turned out !

We made some tweaks from my inspiration board for sure and we have some little things I would like to add as well but for now, this is how it stands!

I absolutely love it! It's simple, light, and just refreshing. Will share before and afters soon and maybe a little how to on the floral mobile.... Thanks for checking out the space! Off to snuggle this little bundle!

"Though She be Little, SHE is Fierce"

Never in a million years did I ever think I would be so incredibly blessed not just once, twice, but THREE times to announce the arrival of such a beautiful, and most importantly, healthy little bundle. Before sharing much more, let me introduce... HER.

She is absolutely perfect in each and every way. Though her birth was early and very unexpected. We are so very thankful she is very health and that I am also recovering well. And even for such a tiny little thing, she is so very strong. And it looks as though....she is happy to be here too. ;)

I will update and share more when the time comes, as for now, I'm going to just snuggle and enjoy my lovely little people! I'm sure you all will understand the lack of post for a time.

XOXO

Celebrating Baby

With this being baby #3 we were very unsure if we would or even should have a baby shower celebrating the new baby...It's funny with the first, it was absolute and then when we got pregnant with opposite sex, everyone threw us a shower cause everything we had before was for a boy...but this time around, after having one of each and such, we just were unsure of having a shower and honestly, just had set our minds on celebrating baby AFTER he/she was here. But....my friend had other plans in mind...

She had noticed different ones were asking about our shower and I was telling them we just were not going to have one. So she cam to me and asked about throwing us a shower, I explained my feelings about it all and her response was "Every baby deserves to be celebrated!". So she began planning and about a week later all her secretive/suggestive comments had me DYING to know what she was up too!! She held a little "meeting" to go over the plans and was I ever so excited!

We celebrated baby #3 in such style and fun! I had such a blast and it has made us even MORE excited to meet and welcome this beautiful baby! We have NO idea who you are going to BEE, but we are over the moon to introduce you to all these people that we hold so dear to our hearts. You may still be growing but you are already so very loved.

To continue the celebration, I will be sharing these lovely printable's to use to welcome and celebrate your own "baby to BEE"! Please feel free to download and use as you fancy! Let me know if you have any questions or have any issues with your download! <3 br="">
These are great for cup cake toppers and to make buttons for the excited "Big" sister or brother!

Baby Nook Inspiration Board

Let the prepping begin!

Baby #3 is growing good and strong! We are 20 weeks along in our journey with this little one and so it's time we start getting ready to welcome this baby into our new family by preparing this little ones nook!

Baby #3 at 20wk u/s! Starring right at us! <3 td="">

I have a huge love for very calm and inviting spaces and since this baby will be sharing a space with us.....Oh. Did I mention that part? hahaha Let me further explain the details! We bought a 3 bedroom home because we were not planning to expand our family....or so we thought. So, that means this baby and one of it's siblings would eventually be sharing a space! However, since we decide to wait and find out the gender of this sweet little person, it makes it more convenient and logical to just prepare a space in our room for this baby. Once the baby is older we will then probably move the baby into a room with either Miss G or Lil L but until then, this baby is ALL MINE! *insert evil laugh* hahaha

So, since we will be in the same space I still really wanted to keep my husband and I's area feeling grown up and relaxing as this is still going to be where to go to bed every night and start each of our days as well. I choose the Cathedral Stone paint color because it is the one grey I have found to not be too "blue". Not that I don't like blue but I wanted a true to grey color without the denim shade to it that I often come across. We got our Ikea Gulliver Crib at a great price of just $99.00 and since its a simple design it won't be overwhelming to the space. I also choose the botanical prints here from Ikea, their TRILLING collection. It has shades of yellows, greens, and reds to give an earthy element as well.

The crib sheet I found at Target for $20 part of the "Bananafish Migi Sweet Sunshine" set. I think it adds a sweet flare with a touch of color added to the space as well. I just LOVE it and while it may have a little feminine hint to it, I believe its doable for both boy or girl! Then the biggest and most expensive piece to this board is the mobile. I have not yet made this purchase as it is $62.00 for this Bamboo Mobile and while I do love it to pieces, I truly believe there will be a DIY tutorial coming for this mobile in our near future, as my very cheap husband and my penny pinching self will not be able to justify the cash for this particularly beautiful mobile! We shall see what we turn up with there...I will be eager for that!

I'm so excited to put each of our pieces together for our baby's nook! And even more excited to see our sweet bundle snoozing in his/her space 20 weeks from now! I did mention we will be sharing this space.....So, inspiration board of the "Grown Ups Space" to come very soon I'm sure! I'll leave you for now with some pictures of us sillies! (Minus Jerry. :( I need to get more with him!)
